Japan's renowned toy company Megahouse (株式会社メガハウス) has launched the third new product in its articulated robot toy series, "Machine Build Series" (マシンビルドシリーズ). This release is also from the classic robot anime "Machine Robo: Revenge of Cronos" (機器勇士), featuring BATTLE ROBO, priced at 5,390 JPY.
"Machine Robo: Revenge of Cronos" (マシンロボ クロノスの大逆襲) was produced by the Japanese animation studio "Ashi Production" (now known as PRODUCTION REED) and first aired on TV Tokyo in July 1986. In Taiwan, it was broadcast by CTS under the name "機器勇士" (Machine Robo), while in Hong Kong, it was known as "天威勇士" (Tenku Yushi) or "劍狼傳說" (Legend of Kenro). A sequel, "Machine Robo: Battle Hackers" (マシンロボ ぶっちぎりバトルハッカーズ), which continued the same worldview, was later released. Hong Kong broadcast it as "新天威勇士" (New Tenku Yushi), while CTS in Taiwan renamed it "天威勇士". Due to the similar names, it is often confusing to distinguish between "機器勇士" and "天威勇士"; it is recommended to refer to the Japanese titles for clearer identification.
▼ "Machine Robo: Revenge of Cronos" opening animation theme song:
The protagonist of "Machine Robo: Revenge of Cronos" is Rom Stol (ロム・ストール), the son of the leader of the Cronos tribe on the machine life planet "Cronos" (クロノス), and the successor to the "Tenkū Chūshin Ken" (天空宙心拳) martial art. To protect the "High Libido" (ハイリビード), coveted by his enemies, he fights alongside his sister Leina and a host of companions. Rom can summon the blue giant "Kenryu" (ケンリュウ) through Kenro (劍狼) and combine with it for combat. In more critical situations, he can summon the red giant "Baikanfu" (バイカンフー) to perform the transformation combination "Pile Formation" (パイルフォーメイション).
This BATTLE ROBO from MegaHouse's new "Machine Build Series" stands approximately 13.5 cm tall, making it a suitable size for play. It faithfully recreates its robot and transforming tank forms from the original work, while also ensuring articulation and posability in the limbs and other areas, allowing for more flexible posing. It also includes interchangeable hand parts, twin gun weapon parts, and cannon barrel parts for installation on the tank form, making poses even more dynamic.
