Released by Bandai Co., Ltd.'s GASHAPON division, the "HG" series of Gashapon figures, known for their exquisite sculpting and compact size, is launching its latest product, "HG Gamera 2023," themed after the anime "GAMERA -Rebirth-." It will feature a total of four types and is scheduled for release in April 2024.
The Netflix anime "Gamera -Rebirth-" is a brand new story independent of past film works, directed by Hiroyuki Seshita, who previously helmed the "Godzilla" anime film trilogy. The story takes place in Japan in 1989, where four elementary school boys witness the monster Gyaos attacking their hometown of Tokyo. In the midst of the crisis, Gamera suddenly appears and engages in a fierce battle with a large swarm of Gyaos. However, monsters such as Jiger, Zigra, Guilon, and Viras also appear one after another.
The "HG Gamera 2023" Gashapon includes 4 types: Gamera 2023, Gamera Flight Form A, Gamera Flight Form B, and Gyaos (Juvenile). In the Gashapon size of approximately 6 ~ 7 cm, Gamera's sharp carapace, aggressive fangs and claws, and distinctive abdominal patterns are sculpted, showcasing a ferocious appearance. The texture of Gamera as seen in the show is recreated through gradient painting!
