Released by TAMASHII NATIONS, the collector's toy division of Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Company, the "S.H.Figuarts (Shinkocchou Seihou)" series, which sculpts from the skeletal structure to give tokusatsu heroes their original cool appearance and natural articulation, has not only released the Ultraman Gaia V2 main figure but also simultaneously announced the release of its dedicated accessory set, the "Ultraman Gaia V2 Effect Parts Set," scheduled for June 2024.
In the series, Ultraman Gaia, transformed by protagonist Gamu Takayama, differs from previous Ultramen who came from other planets. He is an Ultraman purely born on Earth, a giant of light embodying the Earth itself, representing the power of the land, and thus has no 3-minute transformation time limit. Stunt director Kazuo Sagawa also went to great lengths to express the sense of weight when this 42,000-ton giant landed, using a large amount of sand and gunpowder explosions to create the classic and powerful scene of dust flying.
The "S.H.Figuarts Shinkocchou Seihou Ultraman Gaia V2 Effect Parts Set" is supervised by Tsuburaya Productions' LSS modeling department. It utilizes transparent parts with delicate gradient painting to faithfully recreate the in-series CG effects of the special moves "Photon Edge" and "Photon Crash," and includes a replaceable head part that can attach beam effect parts, to be used with the separately sold Gaia V2 main figure. Additionally, it includes a set of dust-flying effects to recreate the powerful landing scene when Gaia makes his transformation appearance!
