The latest creation from the Danish LEGO toy company's 'Ideas' series, the 'Polaroid OneStep SX-70', originally designed by Minibrick Productions and successfully approved for official commercialization, finally has official images released! It is expected to be released in January 2024.
This set contains a total of 516 pieces. Once assembled, its dimensions are approximately 9 cm, which is not significantly different from Minibrick Productions' original 538-piece design. In addition to the camera, it also includes a classic Polaroid color film pack and LEGO-style printed film sheets, one of which features a photo paying homage to the LEGO House in Billund, Denmark – super cool! It's worth noting that unlike the original design, which used a side knob mechanism to slide out photos, the official OneStep SX-70 LEGO model foregoes the side knob and adopts a single-button press mechanism to eject photos, enhancing the overall aesthetic completeness. It is believed that the internal mechanism has also undergone significant changes, which likely contributed to the reduction in piece count.
While we currently don't know what the experience of ejecting instant photos from the camera will be like, just seeing the beautiful retro exterior of this OneStep SX-70, the set's exclusive printed elements, and the instant photos is incredibly exciting. We believe this will be one of the most aesthetically pleasing LEGO products of 2024! It's definitely a must-have alongside the Creator series' '31147 Vintage Camera'!
