Bandai Namco Toys & Hobby's Gashapon brand, GASHAPON, has announced the latest eighth installment in its "Mobile Suit Gundam" themed gashapon toy series, "MS MECHANICAL BUST," featuring "Wing Gundam Zero EW," slated for release in March 2025.
XXXG-00W0 Wing Gundam Zero EW is the successor mobile suit for protagonist Heero Yuy, designed by mechanical designer KATOKI HAJIME for the OVA series "Mobile Suit Gundam Wing: Endless Waltz." Its status is equivalent to the Wing Gundam Zero from the TV anime version, but the EW version features significant modifications to its design and color scheme. Notably, the back wings were redesigned into distinctive, organic-looking white feathered wings, which not only greatly enhance mobility but can also envelop and protect the fuselage to form the "Neo-Bird Mode" (Atmospheric Entry Mode). Its primary weapon remains the familiar "Twin Buster Rifle," capable of destroying an entire space colony with a single shot at maximum output.
"MS Mechanical Bust 08 Wing Gundam Zero EW" offers three types to collect: "Wing Gundam Zero EW Outer Armor (Colored Ver.)," "Wing Gundam Zero EW Outer Armor (Clear Ver.)," and "Internal Frame (LED Light Unit Included)." By collecting one of the outer armor types and the internal frame, you can assemble a bust model approximately 10 cm tall.
Continuing the series' signature features, this "Wing Gundam Zero EW" release also utilizes precise part separation and a sharp, cool design to construct the bust. All cameras, sensors, antennas, chin, and various armor parts are pre-colored. The upper sides of the chest armor can open to reveal the internal machine cannons. When the LED light unit built into the internal frame is activated, the central sensor on the chest will emit a green light, just as it does in the original design.
