Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Company's collector's toy division, TAMASHII NATIONS, has announced the commercialization of the latest collaborative product, "PHANTACi RX-78-2 Gundam ver.J," with pop king Jay Chou's fashion brand "PHANTACi." This new item is part of the 'GUNDAM FIX FIGURATION METAL COMPOSITE' series, a line of alloy and ABS finished products meticulously supervised by renowned mechanical designer KATOKI HAJIME. The release date is yet to be determined.

The base for this collaborative product is TAMASHII NATIONS' alloy frame action figure "RX78-02 Gundam [THE ORIGIN]," originally released in 2011. This figure is based on the eponymous mobile suit from the anime "Mobile Suit Gundam THE ORIGIN," a design in which KATOKI HAJIME participated. It masterfully blends the original silhouette designed by Kunio Okawara with a distinctive personal style, boasting sophisticated and intricate details throughout its body without appearing cluttered. It also faithfully reproduces various mechanisms and a rich array of armaments, allowing for interchangeable parts to switch between three specifications: early, mid, and late production types.

For the PHANTACi collaborative product, "RX-78-2 Gundam ver.J," Jay Chou himself serves as the supervisor, while PHANTACi brand creative director RIC is responsible for the color design. It features a matte black base color with striking gold paint applied to highlight exposed joint parts. This is combined with vibrant pink armor sections and body markings, creating a powerful contrast. The brand's LOGO is also prominently printed in multiple locations, including the legs and shield.
