BANDAI SPIRITS Co., Ltd.'s collector's toy division, TAMASHII NATIONS, has officially announced the latest product from its classic alloy toy "Chogokin" series: "EX-001GLASS FEATHER", based on the video work "GUNDAM: Next Universal Century" shown inside the Expo Gundam Pavilion, scheduled for release in July 2026.
At the 2025 Japan World Expo (Osaka-Kansai Expo) exhibition area, the 17-meter-tall "RX-78F00/E Gundam Life-sized Statue" standing next to the "GUNDAM NEXT FUTURE PAVILION" exhibition hall was modified from the previous life-sized movable Gundam at "GUNDAM FACTORY YOKOHAMA". It has been redesigned as a non-articulated statue in a high kneeling pose looking up at the universe, with the left shoulder armor, skirt armor, and leg armor replaced with new solar panel-like designs. When night falls, special performances with lighting and smoke effects are presented.
However, the statue outside the pavilion is not the complete form of the "RX-78F00/E Gundam". A completely new video work played inside the pavilion will lead audiences into a "world where humans and mobile suits coexist", experiencing a journey to a space workstation via an orbital elevator. Along the way, they will witness the Gundam equipped with magnificent solar panel wings, "GLASS FEATHER", on its back, engaging in battle with the "Zeong MA Type" that attacks the workstation.
The "Chogokin EX-001GLASS FEATHER" is produced in an impressive size with a wingspan of 40 cm. Its design meticulously sculpts numerous thrusters on the back of the wings, and the solar panels are rendered with clear blue parts, revealing internal structural patterns. The entire model also features original markings printed on the fuselage to enhance detail density. The bases of both wings, side thrusters, and battery units are designed with movable axes, and the pair of mechanical arms above the backpack also feature telescopic mechanisms and articulation.
When combined with the separately sold "RX-78F00/E Gundam" main body, it can form the complete appearance seen in the video. Accessories also include a dedicated display stand and the head part of the enemy mobile armor "Zeong MA Type" from the video, allowing for the recreation of the iconic scene where both sides battle fiercely until the very end.
