ZGMF/A-262B STRIKE FREEDOM GUNDAM TYPE II
This is the modified version of the "STRIKE FREEDOM GUNDAM" that was improved using Orb's latest technology, after the original unit was shot down six months prior to the main story of "FREEDOM" during an attempted terrorist hijacking. The modifications include the installation of a new fusion reactor and an updated operating system. While still utilizing a conventional drive system, parts of its exterior design have been altered, and its internal structure has been adjusted for future combination with the "Proud Defender."
The cockpit has been replaced with the standard all-around panoramic monitor system used by the World Peace Monitoring Organization "COMPASS," and a deployable sub-pilot seat has been added to the right of the main pilot's seat.
Regarding weaponry, aside from the beam rifles and the mobile weapon wings on the back which retain their original design, all other parts have been updated. The beam sabers have been repositioned back to the top of the side skirts, similar to the original unit, freeing up space on the side and rear skirts for direct rifle mounting.
To counter the Femtech Armor (FT Armor) equipped by the Black Knights, which can neutralize beam weapons, this unit has also been equipped with two prototype Type 35 electromagnetic railguns, identical to those on the GELGOOG MENACE, as solid projectile armaments.
The main body stands approximately 14cm tall. Accessories include 3 types of interchangeable left and right hands, 8 DRAGOON Systems, High-Energy Beam Rifles (left and right), Railguns (left and right), 2 Beam Shield effect parts, 2 Beam Shield attachment parts, 2 Beam Saber hilts, a connecting hilt for beam sabers, 2 Beam Saber blades, Railgun connection parts, DRAGOON System connection parts, an acrylic stand, and a dedicated display base.
The METAL ROBOT SPIRITS STRIKE FREEDOM GUNDAM TYPE II condenses the sophisticated design and flexible articulation from the series into an approximately 14cm tall figure. It utilizes electroplated gold alloy parts to recreate the distinctive gold frame, expressing a profound sense of weight and quality. This special limited edition project incorporates Hatsune Miku's iconic color scheme into the STRIKE FREEDOM GUNDAM TYPE II. Included is a specially illustrated "Hatsune Miku × STRIKE FREEDOM GUNDAM TYPE II" acrylic stand, commemorating the special collaboration for "Gundam 45th Anniversary × Hatsune Miku." Displaying it with the METAL ROBOT SPIRITS figure allows you to enjoy the collaborative work. The DRAGOONs and shoulder armor feature a colorful gradient, beautifully reproducing the illustration. The DRAGOON emblems have different designs on the front and back, allowing for two distinct patterns to be appreciated, significantly enhancing the detail density and realism as a weapon.
The full coloring and water decals give it a high-class feel. The articulation at various points is excellent, and many frame sections are made of alloy, resulting in very sturdy joints. The accessories are incredibly rich, with rifles, cannons, shields, and beam sabers all included, making this figure highly playable. Although the main body's colors are complex and vibrant, the paint application is precise and attractive. My unit's QC was generally good, with only minor scratches and slight paint bleed issues, so I consider myself lucky in the "luck of the draw." However, many netizens encountered problems such as repainting touch-ups, misaligned tampo printing, and more. Therefore, the QC score cannot be too high...
The overall appearance and body proportions are indeed excellent. The drawbacks are that many movable joint areas on the body are too close to the outer armor, making it easy to scratch the main body if not careful during play; although the feet are not small, it is still difficult to stand without a display base; furthermore, it is ultimately "old wine in a new bottle," lacking in novelty. Overall, it is an outstanding product! If you see it available in the market, feel free to purchase it, provided it's not at scalper prices!
Yes! This is indeed one of D.M.S.'s Top Ten Best Buys @2025......
