Japanese company PLEX (PLEX Co., Ltd.), in collaboration with soft vinyl creators, has unveiled a new themed release for its "ULTRA KAIJU VINYL ART" soft vinyl series from "Ultraman"—the "Red King Akoni (Frog Tree)" soft vinyl figure. With a reference price of 40,000 JPY, it will be available for lottery entry on the PB official website at 12:00 PM JST on April 21, 2025, with an estimated shipping date of July 2026!
The Japanese three-person design team "Frog Tree" (フロッグツリー) is a group of soft vinyl artists active internationally, themed around "Wa" (Japanese harmony/style). Their works are not merely soft vinyl toys but works of art that blend artistry with traditional Japanese aesthetics, garnering significant attention from art toy enthusiasts worldwide.
This "Red King Akoni (Frog Tree)" soft vinyl figure stands approximately 28 cm tall, utilizing the previously revealed sculpt with a new color scheme to reinterpret the powerful form of "Skull Monster" Red King in Frog Tree's unique style! The sculpting transforms Red King's original layered muscles into the muscular tension reminiscent of Japanese Yokai, and the paintwork features a vibrant orange-red, symbolizing anger and scorching heat. Combining traditional cultural symbols with pop culture, it showcases a powerful presence distinct from its initial color scheme!
