Super Robot Wars OG "Soul of Chogokin Koryuoh" Set for Release! Official Sneak Peek Unboxes Combination Mechanism!

The popular die-cast toy series "Soul of Chogokin", released by TAMASHII NATIONS, the collectors' toy division of Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Co., Ltd., is set to release its latest product from "Super Robot Wars OG", the "GX-119 Ryukoh/Koryuoh", on April 25, 2026. The official team has provided an early unboxing to showcase more product details ahead of its release.

The RyuOhki and KohOhki, which appear in the game, are semi-biological weapons developed by ancient Chinese people to combat demons and gods of destruction, based on the imagery of the Four Sacred Beasts. They possess autonomous thought circuits akin to souls. When unearthed, they had lost most of their functions and were subsequently repaired using parts from the Grungust Type-3. The two machines can combine in different ways to form "Ryukoh", which excels in aerial and aquatic combat and casts long-range spells, and "Koryuoh", which boasts extremely high mobility and can rapidly execute close-quarters martial arts.

The product's outer box design features a powerful display of both Ryukoh and Koryuoh forms against a Tai Chi pattern background composed of water and fire. The contents include the main bodies of RyuOhki and KohOhki, various weapon accessories, and a display stand set.

The main bodies of RyuOhki and KohOhki feature luxurious, weighty textures achieved through gold paint and electroplating on blue and white molded parts, respectively. Details include RyuOhki's sharp dorsal fins and the scale patterns on the inside of its tail, as well as KohOhki's black tiger stripes and intricate details across its entire body. The Tai Chi-shaped display stand can be separated and combined at any time, allowing for display by inserting the tip of the support arm into the abdominal ports of both machines.

When preparing for transformation and combination, both machines require unlocking the abdominal locking parts, disassembling them into multiple sections such as the upper body, limbs, and lower body.

To combine into "Ryukoh", various parts from RyuOhki and the upper body parts of KohOhki are used. The precise and complex combination structure allows for the recreation of Ryukoh, boasting both articulation and a cool design.

Conversely, to combine into "Koryuoh", various parts from KohOhki and the upper body parts of RyuOhki are required.

The combined "Ryukoh" stands approximately 21 cm tall, while "Koryuoh" is approximately 20 cm tall. The toy's original combination mechanism faithfully reproduces their impressive proportions. After assembling the Tai Chi-shaped stand into a circle, it can be connected to the dedicated attachment parts for each form for display.

Ryukoh's exclusive armaments are the "Ryuoh Hasantou" (Dragon King Crushing Mountain Sword) and "Ryuoh Hasantou Gyakurin-dan" (Dragon King Crushing Mountain Sword: Reverse Scale Slash), while Koryuoh wields the "Shinsoku-sou" (Godspeed Spear) and "Rentei Randa" (Nunchaku). Both sets of weapons feature intricate paintwork, faithfully reproducing details such as silver-white blades, green jewels, and red knots.

Both forms' hands are equipped with grooves to securely hold various armaments, and each finger part features independent articulation. This allows for dynamic poses such as Ryukoh extending two fingers when casting spells, or Koryuoh concentrating power when performing its ultimate technique, "Kouoh Ranbu" (Tiger King Rampage). Furthermore, pressing a button on the inside of the arm unlocks the wrist joint, allowing it to bend 90 degrees, mimicking its pre-combination state.

In addition to the ball-and-socket joint that allows for forward and backward movement of the neck, a two-stage joint that can be pulled upwards is hidden, enabling Ryukoh to strike a forward-looking flight pose during aerial combat. Furthermore, Ryukoh's complex shoulder armor structure incorporates a pull-out shoulder joint, a ball-and-socket joint at the base of the shoulder armor, a horizontal swivel in the upper arm, and a double-jointed elbow, significantly reducing articulation interference and allowing for flexible arm movements.

The hip joints incorporate a multi-axis design to expand the range of motion for the legs, while the knee joints offer over 90 degrees of bend, and the foot joints enhance ground contact. The tail and dragon wings on the back can all be adjusted in their swinging angle, and the jewel at the tip of the tail can even be detached.

"Koryuoh," with its relatively refined armor design, boasts even superior articulation. Its pull-out shoulder joints allow for dynamic poses such as holding the Shinsoku-sou with both hands. The hip joints can avoid interference from the front skirt armor, enabling powerful, low-center-of-gravity stances.

The Rentei Randa (Nunchaku) features a palm-connecting peg on only one side of the stick, preventing an unnatural protrusion when held with a single hand.
