SQUARE ENIX, a Japanese company, recently announced the latest product from its BRING ARTS 6-inch action figure series, "Sephiroth," based on the PS version of "FINAL FANTASY VII," with an expected release in June 2024.
Sephiroth, the immensely popular and charismatic antagonist from "FINAL FANTASY VII," was once the strongest member of the Shinra Private Elite Force's "SOLDIER" 1st Class, the highest rank. He possessed strong elite qualities, a calm, brave, and responsible personality, and was very caring towards his subordinates, earning him widespread admiration. However, during the "Nibelheim Incident" five years before the main story, Sephiroth learned about his origins, the Ancients, meteorites, and vast knowledge of the planet from the Lifestream. He then secretly began preparing to cast the ultimate destructive magic, "Meteor," to strike the planet, intending to merge with the overflowing Lifestream as the planet healed itself, thereby becoming a "god-like" being.
The "BRING ARTS Sephiroth" figure is based on the design drawn by artist Tetsuya Nomura at the time of the PS version's release in 1997. In its 6-inch action figure scale, it faithfully recreates his flowing silver hair, jet-black attire, and his signature weapon, the "Masamune," which exceeds the figure's own length. Accessories include six interchangeable hand parts, allowing for dynamic and cool battle poses in conjunction with the figure's full range of articulation.
