Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS company, under its immensely popular "Ichiban Kuji" (a lottery where every draw wins a prize) brand, will release its latest product, "Ichiban Kuji Kaiju No. 8 Part 1". The suggested retail price is 790 JPY per draw, and it is scheduled to launch in May 2024!
The manga series "Kaiju No. 8", created by manga artist Naoya Matsumoto, began serialization in July 2020 on Shueisha's online manga platform Shonen Jump+. It achieved an astonishing total viewership of over 30 million within 3 months and 100 million within a year, setting a platform record. The story is set in Japan, a country frequently invaded by kaiju. The protagonist, Kafka Hibino, who aspired to join the Defense Force and eliminate all kaiju since childhood, ends up working in a kaiju-specialized cleaning service. In an unexpected incident, Kafka is infected by a mysterious creature, causing his body to mutate into the "Kaiju No. 8," a being that must be subjugated...
